Sowing Knowledge Project

Within the Semeamos Saberes project, Sylvamo employees and third-party workers receive pedagogical support and individualized follow-up to help them prepare for the exam. Classes are held in accessible formats and schedules, aiming to promote learning in a welcoming environment that values participants’ life experiences. The project contributes not only to academic achievement but also to greater self-confidence and professional development, creating new opportunities for social and economic inclusion.

Through a partnership with the +Unidos Group, an innovation classroom was implemented at the EMEF Professora Zilda Aparecida Marinho Seixas school, in Luís Antônio, SP. The classroom is intended for students in both Elementary School I and Elementary School II.

The project strengthens education in technology and innovation for public school students, who will have access to activities such as robotics, maker culture, programming, among others. The initiative also aims to train teachers so they can lead activities in the innovation space.

“Our role is to support the education system in practice and create new futures for young talents in our communities through creative and innovative approaches to learning. The goal of the project is to democratize access to technology and innovation, creating more opportunities for students in the region,” says Mariana Claudio, Executive Manager at Instituto Chamex.

“We are very pleased with this partnership between +Unidos, Instituto Chamex, and the Municipality of Luís Antônio for another education project focused on innovation. We believe technology is a powerful tool to enhance learning and prepare young people for future challenges,” says Daniel Grynberg, Executive Director of the +Unidos Group.

The Sala Inova was inaugurated in April 2024, and the planning of the space was carried out with the support of municipal school technology teacher Débora Garofalo, who designed and implemented the internationally recognized Robotics with Recycled Materials project. In 2024, the classroom served approximately 1,400 children from the Luís Antônio public school system.

The Municipal Government, together with the Department of Education, expresses its deep gratitude to +Unidos and Instituto Chamex for their partnership in creating the Innovation Classroom. This unique space in the region aims to inspire students to explore the new and to think differently when faced with educational challenges. Beyond that, these environments foster technological skills, increase student engagement, and ignite a genuine passion for learning.

Because they are playful spaces, they stimulate creativity, bringing numerous benefits and focusing on the essential skills needed to form citizens prepared for the challenges of today and the future. This initiative strengthens active learning methodologies and enhances collaboration among students, interdisciplinarity, and STEAM education, promoting student protagonism. Innovation in education is a path toward a promising future, and this partnership significantly contributes to the advancement of our educational community,” emphasizes Vanessa Rosatti Marques, Secretary of Education and First Lady.
