Geração Sylvamo Program
Geração Sylvamo is a flagship initiative by Sylvamo in partnership with the National Industrial Training Service (Senai), designed to empower young apprentices and open doors to new futures.
Through this long-standing program, we reaffirm our commitment to inclusion and to preparing young people from socially vulnerable backgrounds for the job market. By combining technical training with citizenship education, we help shape not just skilled professionals, but also engaged and socially conscious individuals.
In 2024, the program was implemented in three cities — Luiz Antônio (SP), Mogi Guaçu (SP), and Três Lagoas (MS) — reaching 53 young participants. They were supported by a dedicated team of 125 educators and 53 volunteer mentors, who guided them throughout their learning and personal development journey.
Thanks to our partnership with Senai, participants gained access to a professional training course focused on the industrial sector. However, the impact went far beyond technical skills: the experience also nurtured a strong sense of citizenship and belonging.
Throughout the program, students receive a stipend and a comprehensive benefits package, allowing them greater security and focus during their studies. Over the past few years, the program has achieved approximately a 70% graduation rate and around 45% of participants have been hired by Sylvamo — clear indicators of its success in paving the way toward brighter futures.
Since its inception in 2012, originally under the name Formare, Geração Sylvamo has left a lasting impact not only on its participants but also on society as a whole. A study by the Institute for the Development of Social Investment (IDIS) found that for every R$1.00 invested in the program, R$2.20 in social value is generated — more than doubling the positive effect.
Beyond professional development and employability, participants often report significant improvements in their quality of life, socio-emotional skills, and interpersonal relationships. In 2024, we launched a new partnership with ANBIMA (the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association), which gave participants access to the “Invest in Yourself” platform. This initiative offers a modular financial education course ranging from 40 to 120 hours, with a certificate upon completion.
For many of these young people, Geração Sylvamo marks the first step toward a future filled with achievement and personal growth. It is a gateway to opportunity, a pathway to a better tomorrow, and a powerful boost to their dreams.
