Impulso Program
Through the Impulso Program, our goal is to accelerate efforts that strengthen continuing education and help shape and project future talent.
The program is structured into three key initiatives:
- Impulso: Projecting Future Talent
- Impulso: Advancing Women in Industry
- Impulso: Strengthening Educational and Scientific Events

Projecting Future Talent
In Brazil, completing a college degree often opens the door to better jobs, higher income, and stronger career paths.
With this in mind, we remain committed to expanding access to higher education—especially for those facing financial barriers. One focus of the Impulso Program is to transform educational opportunities for Sylvamo employees and members of the local community in Mogi Guaçu (São Paulo), enabling them to continue their studies and build brighter professional futures.
In 2024, we expanded our partnership with Franco Montoro Municipal College in Mogi Guaçu, offering three full scholarships for Chemical Engineering and Business Administration courses. Since 2023, this initiative has supported 27 people—13 of them women—by contributing to the development of more stable career paths and a future full of opportunity.
Advancing Women in Industry
More women in industry means growth for businesses, families, and communities. We believe gender equity is essential to sustainable development, and we actively invest in driving this transformation.
In partnership with organizations such as FATEC, SENAI, Manserv, and Lotrans, we’ve provided professional training programs to help women enter the workforce.
Here’s what we accomplished in 2024:
- Mogi Guaçu (SP): In partnership with the State Technology College (FATEC) in Mogi Mirim, 27 women completed a 30-hour course on mechatronics in the paper industry.
- Três Lagoas (MS): We continued offering a technical training course in pulp and paper (in partnership with SENAI), benefitting 8 women from the community. These women graduated in November 2024 alongside the Geração Sylvamo apprentices.
- Luiz Antônio (SP): We launched a pilot project that trained 12 women as forklift operators (NR 11), in partnership with Instituto Chamex, Sylvamo, Lotrans, and Manserv, with technical support from SENAI Ribeirão Preto. The 32-hour course included both theoretical and practical sessions. At the end of the project, participants received certificates during a special visit to Sylvamo’s Luiz Antônio facility, where they also toured the factory’s operations and logistics areas.
In total, Impulso Women provided professional training in industrial fields to 47 women from our communities in 2024—bringing the total to 189 women supported since 2023. These initiatives equip women with technical skills, strengthen their autonomy, expand their access to job opportunities, and support their long-term career growth.
Strengthening Educational and Scientific Events
This initiative aims to support events that promote science, research, and innovation—encouraging continuing education through creative and collaborative experiences.
In 2024, we supported several key initiatives aligned with our mission to invest in knowledge as a path to a brighter future. Highlights from the year include:
Fatec Open Doors: Held in Mogi Mirim (SP), the 12th edition of the event welcomed over 8,000 visitors for a day of innovation and discovery. Attendees explored academic and career opportunities through company booths and scientific activities.
Flipoços – Poços de Caldas Literary Festival: Between April and May, the 19th edition of Flipoços brought together over 60,000 people to celebrate literature in all its forms. The event connected writers, publishers, schools, and readers through enriching debates and cultural experiences.
FESICA – Simonense Music Festival: For the first time, we sponsored this cultural event, which drew more than 2,000 participants. As part of our commitment, we launched a cultural competition for public schools. The winning school, E.M. Historiador Fausto Pires de Oliveira, received a music workshop, while the top five schools were awarded Chamex A4 paper boxes as educational prizes.
IFMS Science Fair: From October 2 to 5, the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul in Três Lagoas became a hub of knowledge and innovation. Over 700 participants joined in experiments, lectures, and science activities that inspired young minds to explore research and technology.
ICA Literary Fair: Held from October 24 to 26, the event organized by the Institute for the Support of Children and Adolescents in Mogi Mirim welcomed 680 visitors. The fair offered literary exhibitions and a welcoming space for children, youth, and adults to discover new stories.
FECCETEC – ETEC Cultural and Scientific Fair: On October 22 and 23, the ETEC Euro Albino de Souza in Mogi Guaçu hosted more than 3,000 visitors at a vibrant event where students presented their scientific and technological projects. The event was supported by 38 Sylvamo volunteers, including Geração Sylvamo apprentices, who helped showcase Sylvamo’s operations and the Institute’s work.
